Coatings & Services is a leading manufacturer of Coal Tar Enamel
and Primers, which is used as an anti-corrosive coating on underground
and submarine pipelines. It was established in 1987 as a downstream
integrated facility of Eastern Tar Pvt. Ltd.
The company has continuously invested in plant, machinery and process upgradation, bringing about significant improvements in capacities and product quality. Today, Eastern Coatings and Services has a Coal Tar Enamel manufacturing capacity of 12,000 metric tons per annum. It has been executing large requirements of customers in the petroleum and water pipelines sectors.
Eastern Coatings and Services is an ISO-9001 certified company and the products are manufactured to relevant AWWA, BS and BIS standards. Besides internal systems, the company and its products have also been evaluated and approved by many reputed external agencies.
Eastern Coatings and Services has a well equipped Quality Assurance and Application Research laboratory, which is responsible for:
- testing of raw materials and products,
- process calibration and
- product application and development.
Onsite Technical Assistance
With over one and a half decades of industry experience, engineers at Eastern Coating and Services have acquired substantial expertise in the area of protective coating of steel pipes with Coal Tar Enamel. The company has been sharing this expertise with its customers. Onsite technical assistance has helped customers ‘get it right the first time’ and derive the maximum value from products, both in terms of cost and quality.
Raw Material - Coal Tar
The basic raw material is Coal Tar. Eastern Coating and Services has been procuring most of its requirement from Tata Steel, Asia's first and India's largest private sector steel plant. It has a long term MOU with the steel company, for the purpose. Since the tar is procured from a single source, it is of uniform and reliable quality. The benefits of an assured supply of high quality raw material are available downstream to the our customers.
Packing and Shipment
Eastern Coating and Services has developed safe and convenient methods for packing and moving coal tar enamel. The company provides an option of shipping it either in drums or as solid 24 kg blocks on wooden pallets. These packing systems have been tested for road, rail and ships.
